Homes for Heroes

We are proud to support our Canadian Veterans in need of housing through the Homes for Heroes Foundation. The Homes for Heroes Foundation (H4HF) was created to provide a caring, innovative and comprehensive solution to homelessness among Canadian veterans. H4HF works to build urban villages to house veterans during their transition back to civilian life. Carpet One Floor & Home® is supplying H4HF all the flooring, along with our partner Shnier, starting with the Edmonton Village which opened in November 2021. Our locations across Canada will also be doing local fundraising for the foundation.

Homes For Heroes Village

Providing Heroes with a Home

H4HF helps veterans achieve the goal of living a stable, dignified life. The first Village built by H4HF of 15 homes was in Calgary and opened for veterans on November 1, 2019. The second Village will be located in Edmonton, opened in November 2022 provides over 7,000 bed‐nights per year for veterans experiencing homelessness. The goal is to build one or more Homes for Heroes Villages in every major city across Canada….next city is Kingston, Ontario.

See Their Work

The Homes for Heroes’ villages consist of 15 to 20 tiny houses arranged in a barracks format to facilitate peer-to-peer support, as well as to deliver full service programming such as counselling, training and other resources to help veterans achieve the long-term goal of independent living. In response to this crisis, Homes for Heroes is working to build fully equipped transitional housing to help our heroes on their journey to living independently. Carpet One is proud to be supporting this initiative to not only provide a safe and comfortable place to care for their needs, but also address other concerns that contribute to homelessness. Learn more about H4HF.
